Minachting
En sa is it mar krekt. Dit stik docht rjocht oan hoe't Jan mei de koarte efternamme tsjin it miljardenbal tusken de eigeners en de spilers yn de National Hockey League oansjogge. Net lulle, mar poetse, blinder!
NHL fans frustrated
Hockey fans have been patiently
waiting for nearly a month now for the 2012-13 NHL season to get
underway, but how much longer will we have to wait?
After an entire pre-season was wiped out and now up to a month of regular season games cancelled, the hope of seeing a full 82-game season played seems to be diminishing.
The ball — or puck, rather — is in the NHL Players’ Association’s hands. It’s a continuous game of millionaires versus billionaires, players and owners respectively, in which neither is willing to lose a paycheque.
The NHL is a business, and in businesses the owners make more money than their employees. It’s a shame that in the NHL, as it is everywhere, money is the driving force behind operations. Can we not just play for the love of the sport and take what’s being given?
Though the NHL and the players’ association both have valid concerns, hockey fans just want to be able to sit down and enjoy watching the sport we know and love, and not have the disappointment of the lost 2004-05 season repeat itself.
